Manifesting with the New Moon in Aries

The New Moon is tonight, Saturday or tomorrow, Sunday depending on where you live in the world.

Energetically the New Moon is a time of manifestation, to state your goals and set your intentions as the moon waxes up to the Full Moon in two weeks time. At the Full Moon, we then go through the process of letting go and releasing all that no longer serves us.

As we go through this cycle each month; declaring our intentions, then releasing and clearing; when we consciously do this work with intention, it brings us more into vibrational alignment with who we authentically are at a Soul level.

Manifest your goals by connecting your Centre of Creativity with your Heart Space

Chakra ChartTake a few moments to focus on your breath; breathe in and out through your Heart Chakra (Anahata). Imagine a green light radiating out from your Heart Chakra; and your Heart Space filling with this beautiful green light. Then consciously connect your Heart Chakra to your Sacral Chakra (Svadisthana), which is your seat of creativity and manifestation. Visualise orange light flowing in and out of your Sacral Chakra. Put one hand on each Chakra and feel the energy flow between them with each breath.

As you breathe in and out, take a moment to pause in the stillness of the space in between your breaths. You will find much learning and healing here in the silence between breaths.

When you feel centred and calm, from your Heart Space declare your intentions, state your goals, affirm what you want to attract into your life. Don’t just say the words, feel the vibration of what you are declaring resonate from deep within you.

This New Moon process can be potently powered up with SELF-LOVE.

Once we have sent forth our declarations to the Universe, practicing self-love every day helps to keep our vibration high and in tune with what we want to attract into our lives. It can be as simple as taking a walk along the beach, dancing or singing to our favourite music, treating yourself to a bath infused with essential oils and crystals, taking time out with a cuppa to read a good book… whatever makes you feel nurtured, pampered and supported.

Finish up this process by Grounding yourself.

Black Tourmaline, Hematite, Smoky Quartz, Black OnyxThere are a number of ways to ground yourself and clear your energy. Here are a few of my favourites:

  • Put your bare feet on the earth. Visualise a beam of white light coming from the Universe down through your Crown Chakra, along your spine through each of your Chakras, then out of your Base Chakra, down through your legs and your feet, going right down into the earth. Spend a few moments breathing the energy from the earth, up through your feet to your Base Chakra, then back down into the earth again. When you are ready, visualise roots growing from your feet into the earth, all the way to the core of the earth, growing thicker and stronger with each breath.
  •  Use two pieces of black tourmaline, hematite, smoky quartz or black onyx. Put one in your receiving hand and one between your feet. Focus on your breath for a few moments until you feel calm and centred.
    Sage Smudge Spray
  •  Take a bottle of energy clearing Sage Smudge Spray. Stand with your weight evenly on both feet, consciously feel your feet on the ground, then hold the bottle of Sage Smudge Spray high above your head and give it a couple of sprays… letting the droplets float down through your energetic body and onto your physical body… and breathe deeply the scent of the spray… it has an instant calming and grounding effect… and things seem so much better in the world again…

Full Moon Cleanse for your Crystals

Full MoonThe Energy of the Full Moon

While the Sun represents the Masculine energy; the Moon is Feminine, the nurturing and emotional side of us, it is the Goddess energy, that of the Maiden, the Mother and the Crone.

I love the Full Moon… I stand and stare at her up in the night sky, and a feeling of Love and Expansion always washes over me. She brings me back to a softer way of being, of being Open to Allowing and Receiving (instead of the masculine “pushing to get things done” type energy). And I feel like I want to take a deep breath and sigh, to release, to let go… which is what the energy of the Full Moon is about.

The Full Moon is the time to state that which we wish to release from our life as the Moon wanes down to the New Moon. It is a time for letting go, cleansing, releasing, making space and shedding old patterns of behaviour that no longer serve us.

Then the New Moon marks the beginning of a new cycle of energy as the Moon waxes up until the Full Moon. It is a creative cycle to plant the seeds of intention to manifest into our life what we desire, to make a fresh start, a time of optimism, faith and hope.

And then the cycle begins again…

Why put your crystals in the Full Moon light?

There are many different schools of thought on cleansing and re-tuning your crystals, and IMHO, none of them are completely right OR wrong. There is merit in all of them. It is about your intention and your particular circumstances, so go with what FEELS right for YOU.

My understanding is that all crystals have a repeating geometric pattern within their atoms (which is what makes them a crystal and not a stone or metal) and therefore their Dominant Oscillary Rate (DOR), or rate at which they vibrate is quite precise and doesn’t vary too much. However if you have been doing a lot of work with a crystal or maybe you dropped it or something, then it can become a little “out of tune” in a similar way to a guitar string when you have been playing the guitar a lot.

Left to their own devices, over time, a crystal will always return to its natural DOR. However, we can give them a helping hand. Just like you would take Vitamin C when you get a head cold, putting your crystals out in the moonlight gives them some nurturing TLC to help them back to their perfect natural state.

There are many other ways we can do this for crystals, but I’ll put that in another blog post sometime.

What do I do with my Crystals at the Full Moon?

I wait until the sun has passed over, as coloured crystals such as amethyst can fade in direct sunlight.

If the crystals are small I put them on a tray or in a bowl made from wood, ceramic or glass (not plastic) or on a larger stone outside so I don’t lose them in the grass. The larger ones I put directly on the grass. Remember, crystals came from the earth and I feel that they benefit greatly from being in contact with the earth from time to time. It is the same type of thing as Earthing or Grounding for us.

What if it is raining?

The energy of the moon will still be potent even if there are clouds. The moon is shining behind the clouds and the energy is still affecting us.

Do be careful if there is rain forecast or you are likely to get a heavy dew.

Malachite Chrysocolla

Malachite Chrysocolla

Crystals with a Moh’s hardness of 5 or less are not always safe in water and can be damaged, fall apart or dissolve. Some examples are calcite, selenite, malachite, desert rose or halite.

Metals such as pyrite, hematite or magnetite/lodestone will rust if they become wet.

Put the less water tolerant crystals on a window ledge inside your house, and you can put your crystal jewellery there too. The moon energy won’t be quite as strong, but it will still work.

When do I bring them back inside?

I like to have my crystals back inside quite early before the sun becomes too strong. A little sun-bake in the early morning can be good for them, however please remember that they grew underground and too much sun can be damaging for them.

How often do I need to put them out under the moon?

Again, I follow my intuition on this one.

Sacred Space

Sacred Space

The crystals that I use regularly in my Crystal Healing Sessions get put out each month, however others that may be in my Sacred Space or displayed around my home don’t need to go out each month. Once or twice a year is generally all they need. Just tune into them and see how you feel.

Working with the energy of the New Moon

moonI am fascinated by the phases of the Moon and how they energetically affect us. The Moon represents the feminine aspect, the nurturing and emotional side of ourselves.  It is the Goddess energy, that of the Maiden, Mother and Crone.

To me it is a much softer energy than the masculine Sun energy associated with Ra, the Sun God.

We can learn how to work with the influence of the
Moon cycles to support ourselves
spiritually, emotionally, mentally and physically.

How to work with the lunar energies?

The benefits of gardening by the Moon have been known for thousands of years. Our ancestors knew that everything on Mother Earth depended on and is affected by the natural rhythms and cycles of our Moon. Just as the Moon influences the rise and fall of the tides, so it is that plants, having a high water content, are also influenced by the Moon phases. As we ourselves are made up of 70% water, the cycles of the Moon similarly affect us.

The NEW Moon marks the beginning of a new cycle of energy as the Moon waxes up until the Full Moon. It is a creative cycle to plant the seeds of intention to manifest into our life what we desire, to make a fresh start, a time of optimism, faith and hope.

The FULL Moon is the time to state that which we wish to release from our life as the Moon wanes down to the New Moon. It is a time for letting go, cleansing, releasing, making space and shedding old patterns of behaviour that no longer serve us.

We can all harness the power of the New Moon to manifest all of our dreams and desires, recharge our goals or set new ones. It is a time of renewal, beginning anew, planting seeds or starting new projects.

CandleSET THE MOOD – create your Sacred Space:

Make yourself a calming herbal tea. Light a candle, burn some incense or sage smudge. If you prefer not to use sage smoke, my energy clearing Sage Smudge Spray is a great alternative.

Put on some meditation music, relax, do a little meditation and clear your mind.

On the day of the new moon, take a sheet of paper, date it, and then write the following:

I accept these things, or something better, into my life now for my highest good and the highest good of all concerned.

Then begin to write out a list of all your new intentional changes, the things you want to bring into, become or accept into your life. List it all and be specific. Nothing is too big or too small. Write things in the affirmative as if they have already happened. Such as: “I am”, or “I have”… not “I need” or “I want”…

As you are writing your list, take a moment to feel and connect to the emotions as if you have already received what it is that you desire. Fully accept it with all your heart as if it has already happened.

You can use a pen to write with, or to add more of your own energy you can use coloured pens, pencils, paint, crayons… get creative – the more of yourself you put into it the better your results are likely be.

When you have finished your list, you can either burn it and the smoke will carry your intentions out to the Universe… or you can bury it in the garden to allow it to “grow”.

Just as the Moon has its phases, so does your life and your desires. That is why it is a good idea to do this process each month to re-affirm what is important to you.

Crystals are a gift from Mother Earth, for us to use as a tool to help us along on our Path.   When we work with the energy of Crystals, it amplifies our intentions many times over. Therefore it is important to work through a ritual like this one above to get clear on what is important to us. Not only do you need to be aware of what you want, but most importantly, be very aware of your emotions about your desires. A Crystal does not think or interpret, it simply amplifies the energy behind your intention in a big way.
